Commissioned by the City Council of Santa Vicente de la Cabeza, the intervention proposal for the paving and conditioning of the surroundings of the church of San Mamés in the town of Bercianos de Aliste, belonging to that municipal term, in the province of Zamora, and referred to as to the scope of the act of “unlocking” or “unlocking” that is part of the celebrations of Good Friday in the aforementioned town.
The town of Bercianos de Aliste constitutes one of the most characteristic nuclei of the singular Alistana region. In addition, it is particularly known for hosting one of the most deeply rooted historical and popular civic-religious celebrations in Castilla y León and in Spain, acts of enormous cultural and ethnographic value with which the population lives the devotional and popular fervor of its Week Santa. The events on Good Thursday and Good Friday have been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, as well as of Regional Tourist Interest, by the Junta de Castilla y León.
