ROutes of SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA: camino francés and routes of northern spain

The Public Environmental Society of Castile and León (SOMACYL) promotes the Regional Territorial Plan for the “Camino Francés” Industrial Estate in the municipality of Burgos, drawn up by PLANZ, Urban Planning SLP. 

The Ministry of Culture recommended conducting a Heritage Impact Assessment to analyse the possible effects of the Plan on the Camino de Santiago, given that it runs alongside the French Way. Following this recommendation, the Regional Plan team has commissioned this study to ensure its protection.

The completion of this Heritage Impact Assessment is understood to respond to the State Party’s desire to comply with the commitments made in the World Heritage Convention in view of the possibility of undertaking direct or indirect intervention in the area of a property inscribed on the UNESCO List.
